Keeseekoose First Nation is seeking an experienced, strategic, and forward-thinking professional to join its Senior Leadership Team as Director of Finance.
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Director of Finance provides executive leadership to the Finance Department and is responsible for safeguarding the Nation's financial resources, ensuring sound financial management, supporting informed decision-making, and strengthening organizational accountability.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will
? Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Finance Department.
? Lead the annual operating and capital budget process.
? Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
? Maintain the integrity of the Nation's accounting systems and financial records.
? Oversee cash flow, financial forecasting, and funding agreement reporting.
? Coordinate the annual external audit and implement audit recommendations.
? Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and financial policies.
? Support Department Directors with budgeting, financial planning, and financial analysis.
? Promote accountability, continuous improvement, and financial stewardship throughout the organization.
? Provide executive leadership continuity by acting for the Director of Operations or assuming the responsibilities of other management positions, as assigned or required during periods of approved leave, absence, vacancy, or operational necessity.
Qualifications
? Experience working with a First Nation, Indigenous government, or Indigenous organization is considered an asset.
? Demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, internal controls, and audit coordination.
? Strong leadership, communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
? High standards of integrity, professionalism, confidentiality, and accountability.
