About Choose Life Ministry
Choose Life Ministry provides faith-based, trauma-informed recovery support for women through our Homestead for Hope residential program. Our team walks alongside residents through the hardest season of their lives.
Duties
Provide day-to-day support, encouragement and accountability to residents
Facilitate and supervise daily routines, chores and programming
Document resident progress, incidents and shift notes
Support residents at appointments, meetings and community activities
Maintain a safe, clean and welcoming home environment
Uphold confidentiality, boundaries and program policies at all times
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent
Genuine heart for women in recovery and alignment with our Christian faith values
Strong interpersonal, listening and de-escalation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including evenings, nights and weekends
Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector search
Valid driver's licence
Assets
Experience in addictions, mental health, social work or a related field
First Aid / CPR, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Mental Health First Aid
Lived experience of recovery (minimum two years of sustained sobriety)
Working Conditions
Work takes place in a residential home setting with rotating shifts, including overnights and weekends. The role can be emotionally demanding and requires physical activity such as walking, standing and light lifting.
