Cultural Program Coordinator

Flexible work hours (some evening work required)

We are seeking a permanent full-time Cultural Program Coordinator to facilitate Cultural Programming to all Eagles Nest program locations in Saskatoon.

Responsibilities

To coordinate the delivery of innovative programming solutions involving, but not limited to: group activities, workshops, seminars, traditional crafts, indigenous languages, ceremonies and teachings, land- based teachings, and summer culture camps

To ensure programming is safe, supportive, culturally-informed, and based on caring, respect, growth, and learning

To resource Elders and traditional teachers, and supervise the facilitation of programming

To identify and apply for community programming grants

To coordinate and/or deliver staff education and development workshops to enhance an understanding of Truth and Reconciliation

To demonstrate fiscal responsibility and responsible planning & management of resources in everyday work

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The Cultural Program Coordinator will have a combination of education and experience in Human Services, knowledge about the various cultures, values, beliefs and traditions of Indigenous peoples and groups and previous experience developing community programming, partnerships, and connections to Indigenous communities. The Cultural Program Coordinator will have lived experience as an Indigenous person. This position requires: strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment, effective and professional communication and presentation skills, and proficient time management and organizational capabilities. Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, First Aid CPR-C, and valid class 5 drivers license are required.
