About this role
The Clinical Counsellor will provide individual and group counselling to people affected by eating disorders and disordered eating. Depending on program needs, the role may also include counselling and support for youth, caregivers and families.
The successful candidate will work directly with participants to support meaningful changes in eating disorder behaviours, strengthen capacities for recovery and encourage continued personal development.
As a member of BridgePoints multi-disciplinary team, the Clinical Counsellor will contribute to coordinated and accessible services delivered virtually from the Saskatoon office and onsite in Milden during scheduled programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual counselling virtually and in person;
- Facilitate therapeutic groups, workshops and recovery-focused programming;
- Complete clinical assessments and develop collaborative counselling and support plans;
- Help participants establish and work toward meaningful recovery goals;
- Provide counselling and support to caregivers and families, where appropriate;
- Coordinate services with BridgePoint team members and external care providers, with participant consent;
- Identify when participant needs fall outside BridgePoints scope and support appropriate referrals or transitions;
- Maintain timely, accurate and confidential clinical documentation;
- Participate in clinical consultation, case discussions and interdisciplinary team meetings;
- Provide clinical supervision, consultation or mentorship to team members or practicum students, depending on qualifications and organizational needs;
- Contribute to clinical policies, program development and resource creation;
- Participate in program evaluation and continuous quality improvement;
- Maintain professional, ethical, privacy and confidentiality standards.
