POSITION OVERVIEW

The Construction Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial and industrial construction projects. This role is critical in supporting pre-construction activities, securing new work, and ensuring CCR remains competitive within the Saskatchewan market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects.

Review drawings, specifications, and tender documents to develop accurate pricing.

Solicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and supplier bids.

Identify risks, cost drivers, and value engineering opportunities.

Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and leadership during bid and pre-construction phases.

Maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and estimating tools.

Participate in bid closings, post-bid reviews, and project hand-offs.

Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market conditions.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills preferred).

Ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Familiarity with the local construction market and competitors.
