Construction Estimator

We are seeking a detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our pre construction team. Working alongside our Estimating Manager, you will develop accurate cost models, analyze plan sets, and assemble competitive proposals. This is an ideal role for someone with a strong foundation in construction fundamentals looking to master competitive bidding strategies and advance within our firm.

Key Responsibilities

Takeoffs & Estimates: Perform detailed quantity takeoffs (materials, labor, equipment) and assist in assembling line-item cost estimates for Design-Build models and Hard-Bid proposals.

Plan Review & Scope Analysis: Interpret architectural, structural, civil, and MEP drawings, specifications, and addenda to define project scopes.

Subcontractor Management: Issue RFPs, evaluate incoming trade partner quotes, level scopes, and build strong vendor relationships to ensure full bid coverage.

Field & Data Operations: Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings to assess risks; maintain and update our historical unit-cost database.

Team Collaboration: Work with internal estimators, project managers, and designers to perform value engineering and ensure seamless transitions to field teams.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: Field or hands-on estimating experience preferred.

Technical Proficiency: Experience with digital takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam), Google Workspace, and construction management software (e.g., Procore). Openness to leveraging AI tools.

Document Navigation: Ability to read and interpret complex civil, structural, architectural, and MEP plans.

Key Strengths: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, time management under bid-day deadlines, and excellent communication for subcontractor relations.
