Job Summary
The Clinical Mental Health Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health and wellness clinical and therapeutic support and interventions to clients affected by mental health and addictions issues stemming from many factors, including generational trauma, family violence and many others.
The primary purpose of this position is to provide mental health care to all residents in WLFN to support them in functioning at an optimal level of health to alleviate suffering and promote mental health. The Clinical Mental Health Therapist is a vital member of the WLFN Health Centre Community Wellness Program (CWP) team providing direct, community-based, culturally sensitive, mental health, addictions, and family counselling services to clients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent is responsible for independent and as part of the CWP Team providing comprehensive mental health, addictions and other mental health and wellness-related services, including case management and consultation.
Provide comprehensive mental health, addictions and family violence services in a culturally sensitive manner.
Provision of consultation services and education to the WLFN Primary Community Care Teams and other community agencies on mental health, addictions, and family violence issues.
Requirements
Knowledge of therapeutic treatment options as well as the skill and ability to provide such treatment to people of all ages with mental health-related health issues.
Knowledge of child, adolescent, and adult developmental, psychological, social, and cognitive development.
Registered and in good standing with Saskatchewan professional bodies recognized by Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB): Saskatchewan College of Psychologists, Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Saskatchewan.
Ability to respond to mental health crisis after office hours and might be required to work weekends.
