CHILD CARE WORKER - Casual / Part-Time / On-Call

Susan Ulmer Addiction Services is seeking a compassionate and dependable Child Care Worker to support children and families participating in residential addiction treatment.

This role provides safe, nurturing, age-appropriate care to infants, toddlers, and children while their parents participate in treatment programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, attentive, and developmentally appropriate care.
• Supervise children during play, meals, rest periods, and activities.
• Support emotional and behavioural needs using trauma-informed and culturally respectful approaches.
• Assist with activities that support learning, creativity, and social development.
• Maintain attendance records, incident reports, and required documentation.
• Follow safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and professional boundaries.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in childcare, family services, or community settings.
• Early Childhood Education, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, or related training is an asset.
• Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with First Nations families or diverse cultural communities is an asset.
