Casual Nurse

Phoenix Residential Society is looking for casual nurses (RN, RPN, LPN) in our Eaton Intensive Program and Wahkohtowin Program. The Wahkohtowin program houses 36 individuals with varying needs (including mental health, substance use, cognitive, and physical health challenges) in a supported independent apartment setting. The Eaton Intensive Program is a supportive independent living program working with individuals who require additional stabilization, assessment, and skill teaching after psychiatric hospital admission. This program has 10 residents and the nurse assists with some other residents in the building who require nursing care. Nurses will provide medication administration, wound care, nursing assessment, assistance with programming/groups, skill teaching/coaching, crisis de-escalation, and other supports as needed to the team. Nurses will work 12 hour shifts (07:00-19:00 or 19:00-07:00) at Wahkohtowin and 8 or 9.5 hour shifts at Eaton Intensive. Weekday coverage is needed at times, but weekend availability is required for those seeking casual positions.

Nurses are required to have a valid first aid certificate. Experience working in the mental health field is an asset. Successful candidates will have knowledge of harm reduction philosophies and trauma-informed care.

Nurses must have a valid nursing license. RN, RPN, and LPN may all apply.
