CAM Programmer

PWM Hydraulics is seeking an experienced CAM Programmer to support our machining operations. The successful candidate will develop and optimize CNC programs and toolpaths for precision-machined components while working with machinists, Engineering, and Production.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and modify CNC programs and toolpaths using CAM software.

Review engineering drawings, 3D models, specifications, and tolerances.

Select appropriate tooling, feeds, speeds, and machining methods.

Verify and optimize programs for accuracy, efficiency, and production.

Support machinists with programming and machining-related issues.

Modify programs to improve quality, cycle times, and efficiency.

Maintain CNC programs, revisions, and documentation.

Support new product development, prototypes, and first-piece production.

Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production to resolve issues.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Previous experience in CAM programming, CNC programming, or a related machining environment.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Mastercam.

Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, and machining methods.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and tolerances.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with machinists, engineers, and production personnel.

Technical training in machining, CNC programming, G-Code manufacturing, or related field preferred.

Experience with precision manufacturing or hydraulic components is an asset.

Journeyperson Machinist certification or related experience is an asset.
