Building maintenance manager

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Building Maintenance Manager to maintain clean, safe, attractive, and well-kept outdoor grounds. The successful candidate will take pride in their work, have good attention to detail, and be comfortable working independently in a variety of weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, edge, and maintain lawns and grassed areas.
• Plant, water, weed, prune, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscaping.
• Remove leaves, branches, litter, and other debris from grounds.
• Maintain flower beds, gardens, pathways, parking areas, and outdoor facilities.
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on landscaping equipment and hand tools.
• Monitor grounds for hazards, damage, or maintenance concerns and report issues promptly.
• Assist with seasonal duties, including spring cleanup, snow and ice removal, and fall cleanup.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
• Perform other grounds maintenance duties as required.
• Monthly water meter reads.
• Respond to tenants concerns/questions in a respectful and timely manner.

Qualifications

• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience is an asset.
• Ability to operate lawnmowers, trimmers, blowers, and other landscaping equipment.
• Good physical condition and ability to perform outdoor and manual work.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean, attractive grounds.
• Valid driver's licence is a requirement.
• Must provide own transportation.  Vehicle must be a truck for hauling of equipment and debris.
