Auto Body Shop Manager

Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations: Manage production, scheduling, workflow and shop capacity.

Keep repairs moving: Conduct daily production meetings, monitor work in progress, and coordinate technicians, painters, parts and support staff.

Manage delivery expectations: Track repair progress and expected completion dates, addressing delays as they arise.

Review Mitchell estimates and prepare supplements as required.

Work with industry partners: Coordinate with insurance companies, adjusters and suppliers to resolve repair and parts issues.

Monitor shop performance: Track productivity, quality, cycle time and profitability.

Maintain repair standards: Ensure repairs follow OEM procedures and meet company and insurer requirements.

Support customers: Help resolve questions and concerns promptly and professionally.

Develop the team: Coach employees and assist with hiring, training and performance management.

Maintain a safe, organized facility: Promote workplace health and safety and ensure equipment and facilities are properly maintained.

What Were Looking For

Experience in the collision repair industry, with a strong understanding of production and workflow.

The ability to read and work with collision repair estimates.

An understanding of supplements and insurance repair processes.

Strong organizational skills, sound judgment and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Clear communication with employees, customers, insurers and suppliers.

The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy shop.

Leadership ability and a commitment to supporting and developing employees.

A valid drivers licence.

Mitchell estimating experience is preferred. I-CAR, OEM or other industry training is an asset.

Previous management experience is an asset, but we also welcome experienced collision repair professionals who are ready to take their first step into management.
