Arena Operator 1

This is a full-time, permanent, in-scope position under the current City of Swift Current Collective Agreement with CUPE 183.

Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, this employee will be responsible for performing tasks involved in the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the InnovationPlex and S3 Arenas as well as other facilities operated by the Community Services Department.  This will include building care and maintenance, equipment maintenance and janitorial duties of a routine but varied nature in accordance with well-defined procedures, standards and techniques. Other responsibilities will include ice making and ice maintenance, utilizing the ice resurfacing machine and related equipment. This employee is also involved with the public, which requires considerable display of tact and courtesy.

This position will involve weekend and holiday work, and varied shifts of 8-, 10- and 12-hours to meet operational requirements.  During the summer months, this employee may be assigned to other duties within the Community Services Department.
