Architectural Technologist

Architectural Designer will be responsible for developing architectural concepts, detailed drawings, construction documents, and design solutions for modular buildings.

This position will work closely with our Project Managers, Construction Managers, Estimators, Engineers, Manufacturing Team, Clients, and subcontractors to ensure designs are practical, efficient, code-compliant, and suitable for modular construction.

The ideal candidate understands that modular design requires a different approach than conventional construction and can balance design, functionality, manufacturing efficiency, transportation requirements, budget, and construction practicality.

Develop architectural concepts and preliminary designs for modular buildings, prepare detailed architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction documents. Create and maintain accurate digital building models. Develop designs from initial client concepts through construction-ready drawings. Review project requirements, specifications, site information, and client needs. Coordinate architectural designs with structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil requirements. Work with engineers and consultants to coordinate design requirements. Ensure designs comply with applicable provincial building codes, standards, zoning requirements, and accessibility requirements.  Design specifically for modular manufacturing, transportation, installation, and on-site assembly. Assist with material selections, finishes, specifications, and architectural details. Prepare drawings and documentation for permitting and approvals. Participate in design meetings with clients, consultants, project managers, and internal teams. Assist with estimating and costing by providing accurate quantities and design information. Maintain organized project files, drawings, specifications, and documentation. Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
