Agronomist

Reporting to the Crop Input Team Manager, the Agronomist will be responsible for providing agronomy support and crop input sales to Ag Customers of Lake Lenore Coop. The successful candidate will work closely with our Agro team and will be flexible between locations when required. Other functions for the position will be as follows:

Be an active team member of all operations in the crop input department, ensuring efficient and effective service for all members and customers.

Conduct regular farm visits with customers to understand their individual farming practices.

Scout fields throughout the growing season and report back to customers timely and effectively.

Soil sample and provide analysis of results.

Develop crop plans and thoughtfully create suggestions for crop inputs that match a customers farm.

Participate in meetings with supplier representatives, in the office and in the field.

Initiate farm trials with customers and source products from suppliers.

Work with the crop input team to achieve sales targets.

Develop presentations and tech sheets as needed for grower meetings.

Provide support to all staff and work directly with the entire Agro team.

Manage continuing professional development hours as required.

Skills and Experience

A degree or diploma in Agriculture or Agribusiness.

Professional Agrologist or Certified Crop Advisor designation or being enrolled into the program is an asset.

Minimum experience of 2-3 years in an agriculture related field, focused on agronomy or crop input sales.

A valid Class 5 Drivers license.

Understanding of farm business operations.

Up to date knowledge of industry technology.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.
