Agriculture Claim Advisory Committee

The Agriculture Claim Advisory Committee will

• Identify and improve communications with all MFN members through information sharing, advocacy, and education;
• Provide information to all members regarding the negotiation process as well as other options available to MFN ensuring all members are aware and understand all options in pursuing the agriculture claim;
• Travel to membership meetings, ensuring meetings are respectful with an emphasis on listening and understanding;
• Ensure all members have an opportunity to participate and their voices heard;
• Maintain good relations, facilitate collaboration, and effective communication between all parties.
• Provide feedback, guidance, and advice to Chief and Council on key initiatives or decision-making items;-To ensure that all information provided to the membership is delivered in a neutral manner ensuring the audience understands all aspects of the options;
• To hold discussions of compensation, distributions formulas etc;
• Create a communication stream both in print and online for distribution to all members.

Interested Individuals Must

• Be 18 years of age;
• Be a member of MFN;
• Have good organizational skills;
• Have a good understanding of the specific claim process;
• Have a good understanding of the options set before MFN;
• Have a good understanding of the history of MFN;
• Treat all members with respect, dignity and fairness;
• Be open-minded of all suggestions obtained by MFN membership;
• Be kind, courteous and respectful to all members;
• Be open and honest and value transparency;
• Be understanding, acceptive and unbiased;
• Be communicative and capable of public speaking;
• Have communications skills both verbal and written;
• Encourage community engagement and participation;
• Respect confidentiality and privacy;
• A background in Business Management including financial literacy would be an asset.
