Accountant II or III

Prairie Co-operative is hiring for one Accountant position within our Finance team. This position will be filled as either an accountant II (Intermediate) or Accountant III (Fully Functional). Final classification, title, and salary band will be determined by qualifications and experience of the candidate.

What You'll Do

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Accountant works collaboratively with the Finance team to support the organization's financial operations through accounting, reporting, analysis, and process improvement. Key responsibilities include:

Preparing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and reports for management, the Board, and external stakeholders

Performing general accounting functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable/receivable, and fixed asset and inventory accounting

Supporting consolidated financial reporting, audits, regulatory compliance, and the implementation of accounting standards

Identifying reporting discrepancies, strengthening financial controls, and improving processes and efficiencies;

Assisting with long-term financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and organizational projects;

Providing leadership, mentorship, and support to Finance and Administration team members.

Who You Are

You're looking for a career in Finance and

You have a degree, with a preference for Business or Accounting

You have 1-6 years of relevant experience

CPA is preferred

Project and process management experience is beneficial

You are motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow your accounting career in a collaborative team environment.

Accountant II Salary: $54,700-82,050

Accountant III Salary: $68,260-102,385
