The Prince Albert Indian & Metis Friendship Centre has a opening for a permanent position as an Aboriginal Court Worker. This is a half-time position with full time opportunity.
Duties and Responsibilities
assist Aboriginal youth and adults charged with an offence and alleged to have committed an offence before the criminal courts to receive fair, just, equitable and culturally sensitive treatment. Attend Provincial Court and circuit point courts.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from a justice related program or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of court system is an asset
- Current CPIC and Vulnerable sector checks
- Must have knowledge of, and be sensitive towards aboriginal culture
- Ability to speak an aboriginal language an asset
- Must have presentation skills, oral and written communication skills
- Must have compassion, empathy, discretion, sincerity, confidence, self-esteem, sincerity and integrity
- Must have knowledge of community resources
- Must be computer literate
- Must have valid drivers license and access to vehicle
- Must be willing to travel within Saskatchewan
- Must be able to work flexible hours
Hourly wage dependent on experience and education
