Community Corrections is seeking a dedicated Probation Officer/Community Youth Worker to provide programs and services to adult and youth offenders in a collaborative, client-focused environment. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with diverse populations, build community partnerships, exercise sound judgment, and support positive behavioural change.
Candidates must possess a degree or diploma in a related field such as Correctional Studies, Justice Studies, Community and Justice Services, Social Work, or Mental Health. Knowledge of criminal behaviour, cognitive-behavioural interventions, risk assessment practices, and systemic barriers affecting individuals and communities is required. Strong communication, case management, assessment, report-writing, and interpersonal skills are essential.
Responsibilities include conducting risk and community assessments, developing case management plans, delivering programming and interventions, preparing court and violation reports, maintaining client records, conducting home visits, collaborating with community agencies, and supporting offenders and victims of crime.
