The Ministry of Social Services is offering a Non-Permanent Opportunity (9 months or more) in Yorkton for individuals dedicated to improving outcomes for children and families. The ministry is seeking compassionate, professional Child Protection Workers with strong communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills. Successful candidates will work with children, families, Indigenous partners, community agencies, and colleagues to assess risk, support family well-being, and make informed decisions in complex situations. Candidates must be adaptable, accountable, inclusive, and committed to public service excellence.

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Indigenous Social Work degree from an accredited university recognized by the SASW/CASW or CASWE. Knowledge of child protection practices, child welfare legislation, family-centred case management, risk assessment, family dynamics, poverty, systemic barriers, and First Nations and Mtis perspectives is required. Strong communication, critical thinking, interpersonal, organizational, and digital skills are essential. Candidates must be able to travel, work flexible hours, hold a valid Saskatchewan driver's licence, and transport children and parents when required.

Responsibilities include investigating child protection concerns, assessing safety risks, developing intervention plans, supporting children in care, coordinating services, maintaining documentation, advocating for clients, and collaborating with community and Indigenous partners.
