100818 - Senior Emissions Engineer

The Ministry of Environment is seeking a Professional Engineer to join the Climate Resilience Branch as a Senior Emissions Engineer. You will be able to explain technical and regulatory information to diverse audiences, build stakeholder relationships, and manage priorities in a regulatory environment.

Candidates must have expert knowledge of engineering principles related to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission intensity calculations and a strong understanding of GHG measurement, reporting, verification, environmental legislation, policies, and industrial processes. The ability to conduct technical analysis and provide regulatory and policy expertise is essential.

The position requires a degree in Engineering, experience measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions, and at least five years of relevant professional engineering experience. Candidates must be registered Professional Engineers and eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).

Responsibilities include reviewing greenhouse gas emission data and methodologies, supporting Saskatchewans Output-Based Performance Standards Program, conducting research and analysis, contributing to policy and program improvements, and working with industry and government stakeholders to support emissions reduction initiatives.
