The Ministry of Highways is seeking an Equipment Operator to join the Weyburn Section within the Operations and Maintenance Division. Applicants must hold a valid Class 1A drivers licence and be able to provide a current drivers abstract. The position requires knowledge of operating, maintaining, and servicing heavy equipment such as motor graders, tandem trucks, loaders, snowplows, and related equipment. Candidates should understand basic mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, fuel, and lubrication systems, workplace safety and traffic control procedures, and occupational health, hazardous materials, and dangerous goods requirements. Strong communication, critical thinking, digital, interpersonal, self-management, adaptability, and health and safety skills are essential.

Responsibilities include coordinating daily crew activities, assigning work, monitoring equipment use and compliance with operating procedures, operating and maintaining heavy equipment, performing highway maintenance and snow and ice control activities, and maintaining equipment and material records.
