Job Information
The Senior Budget Policy Advisor (Advisor) plans, prepares, monitors, evaluates and reports on the Operations, Capital and Projects on Behalf of Others¿ Budgets for the Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS). The Advisor provides analysis, evaluation and assessment of the operational budget, capital budget and project budgets on behalf of others.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and monitor Northwest Territories (NWT) health and social services system budgets.
Plan and collaborate on the development of both the Business Plan (financial component) and the Main Estimates.
Monitor and control DHSS, federal and other third-party and/or cost-shared funding arrangements, including Projects on Behalf of Others¿ agreements.
Develop and monitor the HSSA¿s Core Funding Contribution Agreements.
Perform other financial duties as required.
Key Qualifications
A degree in a financial field and three (3) years of related experience.
Equivalencies may include a diploma in a financial field and five (5) years of related experience.
Related experience may include budget development, financial analysis, variance analysis, and business case development.

The salary range for this position is from $59.62 per hour to $71.22 per hour (approximately $116,259 - $138,879 annually) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
