The Department of Education, Culture and Employment (ECE) provides the residents of the Northwest Territories with access to quality programs, services and support to assist them in making informed and productive choices for themselves and their families with regard to education, training, careers, employment and labour, child development, languages, culture and heritage.
Job Information
Are you passionate about supporting education and helping students succeed? Join our team and play a key role in supporting and strengthening the JK-12 education system across the Northwest Territories (NWT). In this position, you'll work closely with education bodies, school leaders, and partners to help ensure students receive high-quality educational opportunities that meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support the development, monitoring, and evaluation of education bodies across the NWT.
- Develop, track, and report on compliance indicators, policies, guidelines, and educational initiatives.
- Provide advice and operational support to education bodies and their administrations.
- Deliver workshops, presentations, and training sessions to support departmental priorities and best practices.
- Prepare reports, briefing notes, correspondence, and other materials to support decision-making and accountability.
Key Qualifications
- A Degree in Education or related field, and three (3) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year of teaching experience within a JK-12 Northern classroom.
Equivalencies
- A University/College Diploma in Education or related field, and five (5) years of relevant experience, including one (1) year of teaching experience within a JK-12 Northern classroom.
- All other equivalencies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Salary Information
The salary range for this position is from $59.62 per hour to $71.22 per hour (approximately $116,259 - $138,879.) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
