Job Information
The Case Aide provides direct support to the Child and Family Services (CFS) team in Behchoko and surrounding Tlicho communities, including Gameti, Whati and Wekweeti. Reporting to the Supervisor, Child and Family Services, the Case Aide supports Community Social Services Workers in delivering safe, culturally responsive and family-centered services to children, youth and families.
The successful candidate will contribute to a trauma-informed, strengths-based, family-centered and culturally safe approach to service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Support children, youth and families in maintaining positive and healthy family relationships.
Provide transportation and escorts for children and youth to appointments, placements and supervised visits.
Support supervised access visits, home visits and family reunification activities.
Assist with placement and long-term planning.
Complete documentation, referrals, reports and other administrative tasks.
Assist with case conferences, meetings and culturally based activities.
Work collaboratively with CFS staff, families, community partners and other service providers.
Perform other related duties as required.
Key Qualifications
High school diploma or recognized equivalent.
At least one year of relevant experience in community services, customer service, clerical/administrative work, or working with children or youth.
Valid Class 5 driver's license.
Equivalencies may include
Adult high school completion certificate (where recognized)
In some cases, a combination of education and relevant experience may be accepted if the employer's hiring policy allows it.
Experience equivalents (at least one year, paid or sometimes volunteer):
Community experience
Volunteer with a nonprofit, Community outreach programs, Recreation or community center programs
Customer service experience
Retail sales associate, Cashier, Front desk/reception, Call center representative, Hospitality or food service
Clerical experience
Administrative assistant, Office assistant, Data entry clerk, Records or filing clerk, Receptionist
Child/youth experience
Daycare or childcare assistant, Camp counselor, After-school program leader, Youth mentor, educational assistant, Coaching or tutoring children/youth
Working Conditions
Regular interaction with children, youth, families and community members who may be experiencing complex or challenging circumstances.
Local and regional travel may be required, including transportation of children and youth.
Work may involve home visits, community-based services and supervised family access.
The position requires flexibility, sound judgment and the ability to respond appropriately to changing client and family needs.

The salary range for this position is from $36.53 per hour to $43.61 per hour (approximately $71,233.50 - $85,039.50) plus an annual Northern Allowance of $5,536.
