The Corporate Compliance and Risk Management Branch within the Department of Housing, Addictions and Homelessness is seeking a Legal Services Analyst to provide legal research, analysis, and advisory services in support of departmental operations and strategic initiatives. This position plays a key role in reviewing legal documents, interpreting legislation and policy, managing real property matters, and providing advice to support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.

Duties
Review, draft, and interpret legal agreements, contracts, and related documents.
Conduct legal research and provide analysis and recommendations on legislation, regulations, and policy matters.
Administer legal matters related to real property, land holdings, mortgages, and subdivisions.
Liaise with legal counsel, government departments, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
Maintain legal records, databases, legal agreements and other related documents.
Provide strategic advice and prepare reports, briefings, and other documentation to support business objectives and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Essential
:
Completion of a Law degree (LL.B. or J.D.), or an equivalent combination of post-secondary education and directly related legal experience.
Experience reviewing, analyzing, drafting, and interpreting legal documents, agreements, or contracts.
Experience interpreting and applying complex legislation, regulations, policies, legal principles, or similar frameworks.
Experience analyzing complex issues, identifying solutions, and providing recommendations.
Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to established collaborative and effective working relationships across teams and organizations.
Experience using legal research tools such as CANLII or similar resources.
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, manage responsibilities independently, and make informed decisions.
Experience working with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams or similar applications.
