Duties
Manitoba’s Indigenous Loan Guarantee Program (MILGP) supports Indigenous participation in economic development by offering up to $300 million in guarantees for Indigenous-led wind energy projects. It is a departmental mandate item that offers significant opportunities for Manitoba to advance economic reconciliation and for Indigenous inclusion in the provincial economy.
Working collaboratively across government departments, the position provides customer service and overall navigational supports for Indigenous Nations, wind-developers and potential partners seeking to participate in the MILGP or advance Indigenous wind-energy developments in Manitoba.
The Business Development Liaison will engage directly with Indigenous governments, Indigenous businesses, economic development organizations, and industry stakeholders to support the implementation and delivery of the MILGP. The successful candidate will develop a range of internal and external communications materials, briefing documents, and program resources, while also conducting research and analysis to inform program delivery. In addition, they will identify opportunities to strengthen processes, policies, and program frameworks, and provide recommendations that support the ongoing growth, effectiveness, and advancement of the MILGP.
Qualifications
Essential
Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a government or financial services setting.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships, foster collaboration and build partnerships between various government partners and external stakeholders.
Strong program comprehension and ability to communicate complex information clearly.
Demonstrated cultural competency and awareness of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit histories, rights, and governance.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a demanding environment.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Experience working with loan guarantees or business financing programs.
Desired
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French
