Role Responsibilities
Join a team at the center of government financial reporting and transformation. As a Corporate Reporting Analyst within the Corporate Consolidations and Reporting group in the Office of the Controller, you will contribute to high-impact, government-wide initiatives that enhance financial reporting, modernize systems, and improve operational efficiency across the Government of Alberta. From supporting the evolution of enterprise reporting solutions to contributing to key public accountability reports, this role offers a unique opportunity to influence how financial information is collected, analyzed, and reported across government while working with a broad network of stakeholders and subject matter experts.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to
Support coordination of activities across multiple ministries and teams to ensure seamless project execution.
Track project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
Analyze revised/newly developed business processes and identify opportunities for improvement of efficiency, effectiveness, and opportunities for automation.
Assist the Director and Corporate Consolidation and Reporting group in delivering training to ministries on new or revised processes, ensuring smooth adoption and integration.
Assist in optimization of existing financial system functions to enhance performance, efficiency, automation, and user experience.
Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to financial systems.
Assist in system testing and validation, issue identification and resolution, and streamlining processes.
Prepare working papers to support the annual consolidated financial statements and quarterly fiscal updates.
Analyze, interpret and reconcile financial information prepared by ministries and work to resolve outstanding issues.
Provide corporate support to all ministries to meet the high demands of government's consolidation and financial reporting system.

Qualifications
University graduation in a related field such as Business, Economics, Accounting or Project Management plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
Required
Experience coordinating projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
Experience analyzing business processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
Experience preparing, analyzing and reconciling financial information and reports.
Experience supporting financial systems, including testing, validation, and issue resolution.
Assets
Experience with SAP S/4HANA, BPC, OneStream, or other enterprise financial systems.
Experience with financial reporting, consolidation, or disclosure reporting.
Experience leading working groups or obtaining stakeholder consensus.
Experience supporting process improvement, automation, or financial system optimization initiatives.

Notes
This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday in office.
This position is located in downtown Edmonton.
Final candidates will be required to undergo a criminal records check (CRC).
